The app offers a tour of Yeshiva University’s renowned undergraduate and graduate schools, where one can learn about the various programs and vibrant New York City campuses. Users can get to know Yeshiva University with this unique publication created especially for mobile.

How can we transform a publication about the school into an interactive app that will serve as a useful tool for its users?
We started with the publication which offered an overview of the university in a magazine format. This magazine is updated and distributed periodically. The users for the publication would be prospective students and people who are interested in what the university has to offer. The app needed to be consistent with the publication and branding of the university, as well as showcase the school’s numerous highlights and benefits.
We wanted to create an interactive experience in which the user can find out about the different schools in just a few quick taps. We also wanted users to to interact with the maps of the campuses and access office info for the different schools. These features were especially important since users would be mostly potential and new students who would benefit from easy access to information. Finally, in an effort to keep the branding of the school, many of the photos and symbols used in the publication were adapted to fit the various sizes of the devices.
Next, we developed the animations and the gestures. The focus was on intuitive gestures such as swipe to the sides to move from article to another, swipe up and down to display the texts, and easy navigation which slides in and out of the screen. The animations and gestures were tested with users and refined in a few cycles.
The client wanted to showcase a number of locations in the campuses. They also wanted to allow quick navigation and directions to all of the locations.
We ran a few usability tests and designed an animated slide show for each campus map. The slideshow showcased the highlighted locations by displaying a photo with information and animation. Each one of the locations can show directions and the map can be zoomed in/out.
